Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter for the UFC's flyweight division. Valentina Shevchenko, a former UFC Flyweight title holder as well as UFC other fighter, is her younger sister. Antonina Shevchenko started her journey into combat sports in the form of a Muay Thai Kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut at her first IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals by unanimous vote. Antonina was able to continue her professional career after taking home bronze and silver medal in 2008 and 2007 respectively, as well as a Gold medal in the year 2011, along with the title of 2016 IFMA amateur world champion. Antonia began her professional journey back in 2003. She has taken home numerous titles including the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships, the Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships as well as the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's final fight took place in the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She won with a majority. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut took place in 2002, at the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan in which she fought Anara Bayanova. She won this fight by TKO after round 2 and the subsequent 2 matches were held at the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko was a dedicated kickboxer after which she took a lengthy absence in MMA. She came back to fight in 2017 and faced Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa with a unanimous vote, and then she defeated Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She left in 2018 the tournament and started competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera on Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina utilized her striking techniques and striking skills to TKO Nievera in the clinch with knees and body. Antonina's UFC contract was extended following this victory. Antonina Shychenko debuted in the UFC in the TUF Heavy Hitters finals against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modeafferi in an unanimous decision. She then fell in her second bout due to an unanimous verdict. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss, and defeated Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke submission and earned the fight of the night bonus for the bout. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in her three subsequent matches which included a win against Ariane Lipski and falling to Katlyn Clarkagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina lost her last fight to Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos-Walker.
